Dr Sandra Okala, Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Women and Children’s Health at King’s College London, discusses her passion for immunology and how nutrition in utero effects a baby’s response to childhood vaccinations. Dr Okala has conducted a clinical trial in Gambia to measure such effects. This trial, involving 800 pregnant women, was conducted between 2010 and 2015.
