Members of the Africa Chapter will be entitled to apply for membership of the International Society at reduced rates.

The DOHaD Africa Chapter will provide a forum to support cutting edge transdisciplinary research, collaboration and knowledge exchange with a goal of improving life-long health, learning and social function.


The DOHaD Africa Chapter will provide and support continent-wide networking opportunities for all members including students and research assistants

Regular Updates

The DOHaD Africa Chapter will issue regular updates on African DOHaD news, relevant resources, international DOHaD events, publication of new issues of the journal, and online discussions between chapter members as well as disseminate global news, information and funding opportunities relevant to members

Capacity development

The DOHaD Africa Chapter will support academic excellence through capacity development and providing the opportunity for younger African scientists to become global leaders within DOHaD

Research Exposure

The DOHaD Africa Chapter will work with multi-sectoral stakeholders to disseminate and communicate DOHaD research


The DOHaD Africa Chapter will ensure greater representation of African scientists within the International DOHaD Society

Members will have access to a password-protected section of the website, giving members’ key publications, profiles, contact details, and a discussion forum.

DOHaD Africa Chapter's virtual home is hosted by the DST-NRF Centre of Excellence in Human Development in partnership with South Africa’s Department of Science and Technology and the National Research Foundation.
